This review highlights the manifold mechanistic aspects of the link between the pathogenesis of periodontitis, addressing these numerous factors to supplement the long‐standing knowledge of the progression of the disease.

Prevalence and Risk Indicators of Peri‐Implant Diseases and Buccal Soft‐Tissue Dehiscence: A Cross‐Sectional Study From a University‐Based Cohort

This cross‐sectional study of 146 patients and 511 implants assessed the prevalence and risk indicators of peri‐implant diseases and buccal soft‐tissue dehiscence (PISTD) in a university‐based cohort. Moderate/severe peri‐implantitis affected 34.7% of implants, and PISTD was observed in 54.1% of patients.

Macrophage Phenotype Alterations in Treated Periodontitis Patients Suggest a Pro‐Inflammatory Bias

Monocyte‐derived macrophages from successfully treated stage III periodontitis patients show a persistent skewing toward an M1‐like pro‐inflammatory phenotype across polarization conditions, suggesting that immune dysregulation may persist despite clinical periodontal stability.
