Transient changes in neuronal cell membrane permeability after blast exposure

NeuroReport, 2012
The biochemical mechanisms of explosive blast-induced traumatic brain injury and the subsequent long-term neurobehavioral abnormalities are still not completely understood. We studied the biochemical mechanism of blast traumatic brain injury using our recently reported in-vitro model system with a shock tube.

A Health Hazard Assessment for Blast Overpressure Exposures Subtitle - Blast Overpressure Research Program

1999
Abstract : The advent of nuclear blast caused a renewed interest in blast research in the United States. Thus, was the beginning of the Blast Overpressure Program at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. From the early 1950's through 1997, research on the biomedical, biological and biophysical effects of blast and shock was conducted.

Temporal Progression of Visual Injury from Blast Exposure

2013
Abstract : The purpose of this grant is to investigate the temporal progression of eye injury from blast exposure and identify early predictors of visual dysfunction. We propose to accomplish this by first identifying the probability of military personnel developing visual system injury after blast exposure, and determining the time point after blast ...
