The Age and Origin of Block Deposits in the Victorian Alps, Australia

open access: yesPermafrost and Periglacial Processes, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Large periglacial block deposits are found in the mountains of southeastern Australia. Despite their widespread distribution, their mode of formation and age are poorly understood. These landforms hold considerable potential to shed light on the nature of cooling during glacial periods. In this paper we present a new study of block deposits in

Transcriptomic stress responses in Vaccinium spp. F1 hybrids: Implications for temperature‐resilient cranberry breeding using a crop wild relative

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Climate extremes threaten the sustainability of cranberry production, a culturally and economically important North American crop. This study demonstrates that wild cranberries (Vaccinium oxycoccos) harbor genetic variation that may enhance cold stress resilience when introduced into cultivated cranberry through hybridization.

Coalescence of Elastic Blisters Filled with a Viscous Fluid

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters
Pockets of viscous fluid coalescing beneath an elastic plate are encountered in a wide range of natural phenomena and engineering processes, spanning across scales. As the pockets merge, a bridge is formed with a height increasing as the plate relaxes. We study the spatiotemporal dynamics of such an elasto-hydrodynamic coalescence process by combining ...

Challenges and limitations of introducing pigeonpea as a new crop into smallholder farming systems through farmer‐to‐farmer education in Zambia

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Legume plants offer generous benefits for both the planet and people by supporting sustainable farming, food and feed systems through their ability to symbiotically fix atmospheric nitrogen. While grain legumes are cultivated and consumed globally, their adoption, market development, and integration into cropping systems vary.

The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1697-1716, April 2025.
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

The Determination of Lipids and Proteins in Suction Blister Fluid

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1979
The concentration of 5 different proteins in suction blister fluid and serum was determined by immunotechniques. These proteins, varying in size and molecular weight (6,600-2,300,000) were insulin, albumin, high density lipoprotein determined as apoprotein A-I, alpha 2-macroglobulin and low density lipoprotein measured as apoprotein B.

Immunogobulins and Thermal Burns Infections

open access: yesIndian Journal of Plastic Surgery, 1987
Burns patients have higher susceptibility to infections, causes of which are many fold. Leakage of immunoglobulins in blister fluid is one of them. The present work was undertaken to find out the relationship between the types of infections and the ...
