Transcriptomic changes reveal gene networks responding to the overexpression of a blueberry DWARF AND DELAYED FLOWERING 1 gene in transgenic blueberry plants

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2017
Background Constitutive expression of the CBF/DREB1 for increasing freezing tolerance in woody plants is often associated with other phenotypic changes including dwarf plant and delayed flowering.

Plant Parasitic Nematodes Associated with Highbush Blueberry in Arkansas

open access: yesHortScience, 1987
Abstract Soil samples for a nematode assay were taken in 1983 within the root zone of highbush blueberry ( Vaccinium corymbosum L.) plants in mature experimental and commercial plantings. Xiphinema americanum Cobb and

Litsea cubeba Essential Oil Reduces Postharvest Blueberry Rot by Inducing Cell Membrane Damage and Reactive Oxygen Species Accumulation in Alternaria alternata

open access: yesFuture Postharvest and Food, EarlyView.
Litsea cubeba essential oil (LCEO) reduces blueberry rot while maintaining quality. It disrupts the cellular structure and membranes of Alternaria alternata, causing solute leakage, while simultaneously inducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) damage in the pathogen.

Organic production systems in Northern highbush blueberries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The production of highbush blueberries is increasing worldwide. Organic production of blueberries in Sweden is presently very limited but is expected to have a great potential to expand as the berries are popular and have a good shelf life. The fact that

Irrigation Scheduling for Young Highbush Blueberry Plants in Arkansas

open access: yesHortScience, 1987
Abstract A moisture accounting method was used to schedule trickle irrigation on 3-year-old highbush blueberry plants ( Vaccinium corymbosum L.) ‘Bluecrop’ planted in 140-liter barrels.

Aloe vera in Food Preservation: Harnessing Bioactive Constituents for Clean‐Label Innovation and Safety Assurance

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Aloe vera‐derived biopolymers and nanoformulations enhance antimicrobial, antioxidant, and barrier functions in clean‐label edible coatings and films, whereas safety‐critical anthraquinone thresholds and regulatory constraints shape their translational potential.

VcFT-induced mobile florigenic signals in transgenic and transgrafted blueberries

open access: yesHorticulture Research, 2019
FLOWERING LOCUS T (FT) can promote early flowering in annual species, but such role has not been well demonstrated in woody species. We produced self and reciprocal grafts involving non-transgenic blueberry (NT) and transgenic blueberry (T) carrying a ...

Acute kidney injury, secondary to valacyclovir use during pregnancy for the prevention of fetal cytomegalovirus infection

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract High dose valacyclovir treatment of pregnant women has become a common treatment for primary CMV infection, to prevent vertical transmission to the fetus. We present a case of a healthy young pregnant female with primary CMV infection during the first trimester who was diagnosed with acute kidney injury secondary to valacyclovir treatment ...

Performance of blueberry cultivars under mild winter conditions

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2017
: Evaluation of yield performance is important to find the most adapted blueberry cultivars in a particular region. This research aimed to evaluate the flowering and hasvesting periods, the production per plant, and fruit quality of eight rabbiteye ...
