TGFβ/BMP immune signaling affects abundance and function of C. elegans gut commensals. [PDF]
The gut microbiota contributes to host health and fitness, and imbalances in its composition are associated with pathology. However, what shapes microbiota composition is not clear, in particular the role of genetic factors.

TGF-β/BMP signaling and other molecular events: regulation of osteoblastogenesis and bone formation
Transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β)/bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) plays a fundamental role in the regulation of bone organogenesis through the activation of receptor serine/threonine kinases.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Bone morphogenetic protein signaling regulation of AMPK and PI3K in lung cancer cells and C. elegans
Background Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) is a phylogenetically conserved signaling pathway required for development that is aberrantly expressed in several age-related diseases including cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.

Regulation of Phosphatase Homologue of Tensin Protein Expression by Bone Morphogenetic Proteins in Prostate Epithelial Cells [PDF]
Phosphatase homologue of tensin (PTEN) is the key endogenous inhibitor of phosphoinositide signaling and is the most commonly mutated gene in human prostate cancer.

IGF-1 enhances the osteogenic activity of BMP-6 in vitro and in vivo [PDF]
Bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) is widely used in orthopedic surgery and bone tissue engineering because of its strong osteogenic activity. However, BMP-2 treatments have several drawbacks and alternatives are being explored.

MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...
