GLM for Image Steganography Technique [PDF]

open access: yesAl-Rafidain Journal of Computer Sciences and Mathematics, 2013
An improvement to a Steganography method for hiding data using Gray Level Images is proposed in this paper. The method is an improvement over earlier method named Least Significant Bit (LSB).

Function of BMPs and BMP Antagonists in Adult Bone

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2006
Abstract:  The expression and function of BMPs and BMPs in bone tissues have been studied for a long time because of their remarkable activities. However, their biological functions in normal bone remodeling in adults were not fully understood until recently. Advanced technologies using gene manipulation were used to study their roles in adulthood. In

The effect of BMP-2, BMP-4 and BMP-6 on bone destruction of cholesteatoma presence

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Otolaryngology, 2013
The aim of our study was to investigate the relationship between the destruction of temporal bone structures, ossicular chain destruction, dissemination of cholesteatoma and the expressions of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs), BMP-2, BMP-4 and BMP-6 in patients with acquired cholesteatoma. This study was performed in a total of 80 patients with ...

Interplay between BMPs and Reactive Oxygen Species in Cell Signaling and Pathology

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2019
The integration of cell extrinsic and intrinsic signals is required to maintain appropriate cell physiology and homeostasis. Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are cytokines that belong to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily ...

Biomechanical stress provides a second hit in the establishment of BMP/TGFβ-related vascular disorders

open access: yesCell Stress, 2020
Cardiovascular disorders are still the leading cause for mortality in the western world and challenge economies with steadily increasing healthcare costs.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Bone morphogenetic protein signaling regulation of AMPK and PI3K in lung cancer cells and C. elegans

open access: yesCell & Bioscience, 2022
Background Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) is a phylogenetically conserved signaling pathway required for development that is aberrantly expressed in several age-related diseases including cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.

Ucma/GRP inhibits phosphate-induced vascular smooth muscle cell calcification via SMAD-dependent BMP signalling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Vascular calcification (VC) is the process of deposition of calcium phosphate crystals in the blood vessel wall, with a central role for vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). VC is highly prevalent in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients and thought, in

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
