Tissue Engineering of Skin Regeneration and Hair Growth [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Many people suffering from skin disorders such as chronic wounds, non-healing ulcers, and diabetic ulcers need skin repair and regeneration. Aside from the diseases listed above, the industry needed a skin rejuvenation system and regeneration for cosmetic purposes.

Synergistic effect of umbilical cord extracellular vesicles and rhBMP-2 to enhance the regeneration of a metaphyseal femoral defect in osteoporotic rats

open access: yesStem Cell Research & Therapy
Background The aim of this study was to evaluate potential synergistic effects of a single, local application of human umbilical cord MSC-derived sEVs in combination with a low dose of recombinant human rhBMP-2 to promote the regeneration of a ...

Robust acute myeloid leukemia engraftment in humanized scaffolds using injectable biomaterials and intravenous xenotransplantation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived xenografts (PDXs) can be improved by implantation of a humanized niche. We tested different biomaterials and approaches, and demonstrate that the combination of an injectable biomaterial for scaffold creation plus an intravenous route for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) xenotransplantation provide the most convenient and robust approach to

Comparative Evaluation of Ultrasonic and Sonic Irrigant Activation Systems: Assessing Extrusion Risk, Debridement, and Biofilm Removal in Distinct Apical Preparation Sizes

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This study aims to compare the effectiveness of ultrasonically and sonically activated irrigation in terms of extrusion risk, root canal debridement, and biofilm removal, considering distinct apical preparation sizes, through an ex vivo study in human ...

The discovery and clinical significance of the “Twin Open Skylight and Summon Effects” of the Ilizarov tibial transverse transport technique

open access: yesГений oртопедии, 2021
Ilizarov’s tibial transverse transport (TTT) technique can promote vascular regeneration. It has been used in the treatment of a variety of lower limb ischemic diseases, such as thromboangiitis obliterans, diabetic foot ulcers, etc.

Simultaneous elastic shape optimization for a domain splitting in bone tissue engineering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper deals with the simulateneous optimization of a subset $\mathcal{O}_0$ of some domain $\Omega$ and its complement $\mathcal{O}_1 = \Omega \setminus \overline{\mathcal{O}}_0$ both considered as separate elastic objects subject to a set of loading scenarios.

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

PCL strut-like scaffolds appear superior to gyroid in terms of bone regeneration within a long bone large defect: An in silico study

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2022
The treatment of large bone defects represents a major clinical challenge. 3D printed scaffolds appear as a promising strategy to support bone defect regeneration.
