“Activated Borane” – A Porous Borane Cluster Network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The unprecedented co-thermolysis of nido-decaborane (B10H14) and toluene results in a novel porous material (that we have named “Activated Borane”) containing micropores of 1.0 and 1.5 nm in diameter and a specific surface area of 774 m2 g-1 (Ar, 87 K ...

Synthesis of Borane Complexes: From Small Borane Molecules to Polyhedral Boranes

open access: yesHe huaxue yu fangshe huaxue, 2023
Borane is a class of boron compounds, including active small borane molecules and relative stable polyhedral borane compounds, and has widely applied in energy storage, material science, and pharmaceutical medicine, especially as promising boron carriers

Borane-Catalyzed Transfer Hydrogenations of Pyridines with Ammonia Borane

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2016
With the use of ammonia borane as a hydrogen source, a borane catalyzed metal-free transfer hydrogenation of pyridines was successfully realized for the first time to furnish a variety of piperidines in 44-88% yields with moderate to excellent cis-selectivities.

Pressure-induced structural changes in Methylamine borane and dimethylamine borane [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Alloys and Compounds, 2017
Methylamine borane and dimethylamine borane have been studied under compression to 3 GPa using Raman spectroscopy and synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction. Both undergo reversible pressure-induced structural changes in this pressure range. The structural changes in the case of methylamine borane may be indicative of a second-order phase transition ...

Tuning the Solid-State Hydrogen Release of Ammonia Borane by Entrapping the Intermediates: The Role of High-Boiling-Point Amines [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules
Ammonia borane is a promising hydrogen storage material due to its high hydrogen content, but its use as hydrogen carrier under thermal stimuli involves the production of several byproducts, such as borazine, reducing hydrogen purity and the overall ...

Preparation of the 1-Methylimidazole Borane/Tetrazole System for Hypergolic Fuels

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Based on the acid–base neutralization, the (1-methylimidazolium)(tetrazol-1-yl)borane was successfully synthesized by taking advantage of the acidity of the tetrazole and the basicity of the 1-methylimidazole borane complex. Through HRMS, NMR, and FT−IR,

Isolable Diaminophosphide Boranes [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, 2020
AbstractMetalation of secondary diaminophosphine boranes by alkali metal amides provides a robust and selective access route to a range of metal diaminophosphide boranes M[(R2N)2P(BH3)] (M=Li, Na, K; R=alkyl, aryl) with acyclic or heterocyclic molecular backbones, whereas reduction of a chlorodiaminophosphine borane gave less satisfactory results.

Propylamine–borane [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2009
The title compound, C3H12BN, was solved using data collected from a multiple crystal (note incomplete data shell). The cell packing is dominated by bifurcated attractive N—Hδ+...δ−H—B interactions.

Chemistry of Carbon-Substituted Derivatives of Cobalt Bis(dicarbollide)(1) Ion and Recent Progress in Boron Substitution

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
The cobalt bis(dicarbollide)(1−) anion (1−), [(1,2-C2B9H11)2-3,3′-Co(III)](1−), plays an increasingly important role in material science and medicine due to its high chemical stability, 3D shape, aromaticity, diamagnetic character, ability to penetrate ...
