Design, Synthesis, and Evaluation of B-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl Phosphine–Borane Derivatives as Novel Progesterone Receptor Antagonists

open access: yesMolecules
We previously revealed that phosphine–boranes can function as molecular frameworks for biofunctional molecules. In the present study, we exploited the diversity of available phosphines to design and synthesize a series of B-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl ...

Solvent‐Mediated Reactivity Control of Lewis‐Paired Dopants as a Versatile Strategy for Tunable and Stable Doping of Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Solvent‐mediated reactivity control of Lewis‐paired dopants enables highly efficient, finely tunable, and stable doping of organic semiconductors. The optimally doped semiconductor films exhibit superior thermoelectric performance and doping stability, feature delocalized polarons along structurally ordered polymer backbones, and outperform ...

Trialkylborane-Assisted CO_2 Reduction by Late Transition Metal Hydrides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Trialkylborane additives promote reduction of CO_2 to formate by bis(diphosphine) Ni(II) and Rh(III) hydride complexes. The late transition metal hydrides, which can be formed from dihydrogen, transfer hydride to CO_2 to give a formateborane adduct.

Radiotherapy Enhancement by Gold Nanocluster‐functionalized Nanoliposomes Using Polychromatic Orthovoltage X‐ray Irradiation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Lipid drug carriers to which ultra‐small gold nanoparticles were added enabled more efficient radiotherapy of cultured pancreatic cancer tumors. These nanoparticles boosted radiation‐induced damage to tumors by generating more reactive molecules, though higher gold levels are needed for strong benefits.

Pairing and unpairing electron densities in organic systems: Two-electron three center through space and through bonds interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Two-electron three-center bonding interactions in organic ions like methonium (CH + 5 ), ethonium (C2H + 7 ), and protonated alkanes n−C4H + 11 isomers (butonium cations) are described and characterized within the theoretical framework of the ...

Host-Guest Complexations of Amine Boranes and Isoelectronic/Isostructural Quaternary Alkylammonium Cations by Cucurbit[7]uril in Aqueous Solution

open access: yesHeteroatom Chemistry, 2019
The host-guest complexation of six amine boranes (R3NBH3) by the macrocyclic host molecule cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) in aqueous solution has been investigated using 1H and 11B NMR spectroscopy.
