Sintered silicon carbide molded body and method for its production [PDF]

open access: yes
Sintered silicon carbide shapes are described. They are produced by using a composition containing an oxide of at least one element chosen from the group: Li, Be, Mg, Si, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn, Nb, Mo, Ba, Tc, Ta, W and Th as a supplement to ...

Nitrogen‐Doped Borane Cluster Network for High‐Performance Supercapacitors Under Universal pH Conditions

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 3, February 2026.
Nitrogen‐doped borane cluster network was prepared as a porous electrode material, featuring 1–2 nm micropores and specific surface area up to 626 m2 g−1. It delivers outstanding supercapacitor performance, reaching 607 F g−1 in a three‐electrode configuration and 354 F g−1 in an asymmetric supercapacitor device.

Type II Hot Corrosion of Two Mo‐Si‐Ti Alloys and Mo‐Si‐B With a Salt Deposit of Mixed Na2SO4 and NiSO4

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, Volume 77, Issue 2, Page 177-187, February 2026.
Schematic drawings of the hot corrosion mechanisms of (a) Mo‐9Si‐8B (at.%), (b) Mo‐21Si‐34Ti (at.%) and (c) Mo‐20Si‐52.8Ti (at.%) with a NiSO4/Na2SO4 deposit at 700°C in a SO2‐containing atmosphere. ABSTRACT To enhance turbine efficiencies by increasing gas inlet temperatures, new materials must be developed which can withstand harsh corrosive ...

Alloying Strategies for Secondary Hardening in High‐Boron Cold Work Tool Steels: A Comparative Study

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 2, Page 731-743, February 2026.
The influence of tungsten, vanadium, manganese, and silicon on the microstructure and tempering behavior of high boron tool steels is investigated. It is shown that tungsten contributes very little, whereas vanadium leads to tempering carbides, detected by atom probe tomography. Manganese and silicon enable solid solution strengthening. A high hardness

Strength α‐Quartz: New Results From High Pressure In Situ X‐Ray Diffraction Experiments

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract We present a suite of 13 uniaxial deformation experiments on fine grained polycrystalline α‐quartz conducted in a D‐DIA apparatus monitored with in situ synchrotron x‐rays. Experimental temperatures range from 25°C to 1199°C with pressures between 1.4 and 3.2 GPa, and strain rates between 3.4 × 10−6 s−1 and 1.8 × 10−5 s−1.
