On the Non-local Boundary Condition in Quantum Field Theory [PDF]
The non-local boundary condition introduced by Bogolyubov et al. is useful for eliminating the difficulty of negative probability concerning the indefinite metric in Hilbert space. Their theory is developed in the S-matrix formalism and does not give a causal description of the physical state.

Boundary bound states in integrable quantum field theories
The purpose of this talk is to sketch some recent progress which has been made in calculating non-perturbatively the reflection factors for the sinh-Gordon model restricted to a half-line by integrable boundary conditions. The essential idea is to calculate the energy spectrum of boundary breathers in two independent ways; firstly by using the boundary

New Results in Heat-Kernel Asymptotics on Manifolds with Boundary [PDF]
A review is presented of some recent progress in spectral geometry on manifolds with boundary: local boundary-value problems where the boundary operator includes the effect of tangential derivatives; application of conformal variations and other ...

Quantum field theory with dynamical boundary conditions and the Casimir effect
We study a coupled system that describes the interacting dynamics between a bulk field, confined to a finite region with timelike boundary, and a boundary observable. In our system the dynamics of the boundary observable prescribes dynamical boundary conditions for the bulk field.

Critical 1- and 2-point spin correlations for the O(2) model in 3d bounded domains
We study the critical properties of the 3d O(2) universality class in bounded domains through Monte Carlo simulations of the clock model. We use an improved version of the latter, chosen to minimize finite-size corrections at criticality, with 8 ...

Two point functions in defect CFTs
This paper is designed to be a practical tool for constructing and investigating two-point correlation functions in defect conformal field theory, directly in physical space, between any two bulk primaries or between a bulk primary and a defect primary ...
