Parametric management of economic actor behaviour under bounded rationality

open access: yesСтратегические решения и риск-менеджмент, 2017
The article explores parametric management of economic entity production volume within framework of weak and strong hypothesis of bounded rationality. The concept of parametric management with the example of economic entity behavior modeling under the ...

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

Bounded Rationality, Disinformation, and Infodemic in COVID-19 Times [PDF]

open access: yesPsicologia: Teoria e Pesquisa
Infodemic is defined by excessive content of different qualities associated with a specific subject and has relevant consequences. The COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented, exacerbating the search for information and creating some risks, including not ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

BOUNDED RATIONALITY [PDF]

open access: yesAnnual Review of Political Science, 1999
▪ Abstract  Findings from behavioral organization theory, behavioral decision theory, survey research, and experimental economics leave no doubt about the failure of rational choice as a descriptive model of human behavior. But this does not mean that people and their politics are irrational.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Bounded Rationality

open access: yes
Abstract This chapter follows the introductory chapter and serves as a fundamental step in agent-based modelling (ABM), focusing on the concept of bounded rationality (BR). As a nonstandard review of this otherwise hoary subject, this chapter argues that bounded rationality is a natural and inherent aspect of ABM, making ABM a sufficient
