Multimodal Locomotion in Insect‐Inspired Microrobots: A Review of Strategies for Aerial, Surface, Aquatic, and Interfacial Motion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review identifies key design considerations for insect‐inspired microrobots capable of multimodal locomotion. To draw inspiration, biological and robotic strategies for moving in air, on water surfaces, and underwater are examined, along with approaches for crossing the air–water interface.

A Computational Study on the Use of an Aluminium Metal Matrix Composite and Aramid as Alternative Brake Disc and Brake Pad Material

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2014
A computational model for the heat generation and dissipation in a disk brake during braking and the following release period has been formulated. The model simulates the braking action by investigating the thermal behaviour occurring on the disc and pad

Universal Gripper for Industrial Manipulation With Enhanced Rigid Mechanics and Self‐Adaptable Fingers

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
An enhanced universal gripper combining rigid mechanics with self‐adaptable fingers is presented for industrial automation. The novel six‐bar linkage with integrated compliant pad eliminates mechanical interference while enabling passive shape adaptation.

Marble Waste Using Produced of Automotive Brake Pad of Friction Coefficient Different Pad Brake Pads With Comprasion

open access: yesPamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2013
Otomotiv frenlerinde kullanılan balatalar birçok maddenin bileşiminden yapılır. Bir fren balatasından istenilen temel özellikler, standartlara uygun aşınma direnci, sürtünme katsayısıdır. Frenleme sırasında sürtünme nedeniyle fren balataları aşırı ısınmaktadır.

PAF Triggered Pyroptotic NETosis Aggravates Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Platelet activating factor (PAF) secreted by cardiomyocytes during MI/R, drives NETs formation and subsequent NETosis. PAF/NETosis signaling activation is an initiative and causal factor in driving MI/R injury. This study identifies dapagliflozin as a potent NETosis inhibitor, and demonstrates that manipulating PAF‐NETosis signal by dapagliflozin or ...

Macrophage Extracellular Traps in Immunity and Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
As a macrophage‐mediated innate defense mechanism, the dysregulated release of METs drives chronic inflammation and influences tumor progression. Furthermore, METs exhibit a functional duality within the tumor microenvironment, capable of both promoting and suppressing tumor development.

Thermo-mechanical contact problems and elastic behaviour of single and double sides functionally graded brake disks with temperature-dependent material properties

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
A thermo-elastic contact problem of functionally graded materials (FGMs) rotating brake disk with different pure brake pad areas under temperature dependent material properties is solved by Finite Element Method (FEM). The properties of brake disk change

The effects of porosity in friction performance of brake pad using waste tire dust

open access: yesPolímeros, 2015
This research is focused on the effect of porosity on the friction-wear properties of automotive brake pads. Waste Tire Dust (WTD) was used as a new friction material in brake pads. Newly formulated brake pad materials with five different components have

The Age‐Dependent Resident Myonuclear Multi‐Omic Response to an Acute Skeletal Muscle Hypertrophic Stimulus in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Resident myonuclei are the molecular “control centers” for large multinuclear muscle fibers. It is presumed that, with aging, these control centers become compromised and contribute to delayed or blunted muscle adaptive potential. This study is a detailed roadmap that exposes how young versus aged myonuclei respond to a hypertrophic loading stimulus ...
