Friction material (metal reinforcement) analysis of brake pad for light rail train system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Brake friction material is very important in braking system where they convert kinetic energy of moving vehicles to thermal energy by friction during braking process. The purpose of this research is to determine the optimal friction materials composition

Experience and Epistemic Structure: Can Cognitive Penetration Result in Epistemic Downgrade? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Reflection on the possibility of cases in which experience is cognitively penetrated has suggested to many that an experience's etiology can reduce its capacity to provide prima facie justification for believing its content below a baseline.

Marble Waste Using Produced of Automotive Brake Pad of Friction Coefficient Different Pad Brake Pads With Comprasion

open access: yesPamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2013
Otomotiv frenlerinde kullanılan balatalar birçok maddenin bileşiminden yapılır. Bir fren balatasından istenilen temel özellikler, standartlara uygun aşınma direnci, sürtünme katsayısıdır. Frenleme sırasında sürtünme nedeniyle fren balataları aşırı ısınmaktadır.

Hierarchical Summary Statistics Encoding Across Primary Visual and Posterior Parietal Cortices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that mouse V1 simultaneously encodes the ensemble mean and variance of motion, providing a robust summary‐statistic representation that persists despite single‐neuron variability. These signals propagate to PPC, where they are transformed into abstract category representations during decision making.

Disc brake squeal occurrences under dry and wet brake pad conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper investigates the effect of water absorption in the brake pad on squeal noise occurrences. A series of brake noise tests is performed at different hydraulic pressure and rotating speed conditions using the laboratory brake test rig, Four brake ...

External particle shape analysis and its effect on tribological performance of disc brake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The open design of disc brake and its location close to the road surface may lead the road particles of various sizes and shapes to enter in between brake pads and disc rotor.

Brake squeals phenomena of disc brake for railroad cars

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2016
Brake squeals phenomena of the disc brake system for railroad cars were reproduced and were investigated in the test stands using a full-size brake rotor, a wheel, a floating caliper and a brake pad.

A Study on the Skin Adhesion Test of Fine Particles by Brake Pad Friction

open access: yesLubricants, 2022
Though fine dust on the side of the road has decreased substantially due to environmental regulations, the adverse effects on the human due to air pollution still cannot be ignored.

DMAP1 Deficiency Suppresses Lung Cancer Progression by Destabilizing Replication Fork and Activating IFN Signaling‐Mediated Anti‐tumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer‐related death. We investigated the role of the epigenetic regulator DMAP1 in NSCLC and found that its loss induces replication stress and DNA damage. This in turn activates type I IFN signaling via the cGAS–STING pathway and transcriptional ISG de‐repression, enhancing anti‐tumor immune responses ...
