Miguel Zamalloa is a Brazil nut collector from Madre de Dios in Peru. The Brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa H.B.K.), an important Non-Timber Forest Product (NTFP), grows naturally in non-flood terraces of the lowland Amazon forest covering Venezuela, Guyana, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia and is abundant in Peru.
