Efficacy and immunogenic effects of Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) in preclinical models of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, with and without gemcitabine/nab‐paclitaxel

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 12, Page 3091-3100, 15 June 2026.
What's new? Adaptive immune responses are typically limited in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, resulting in minimal efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy, which uses low‐intensity intermediate‐frequency electric fields to disrupt cancer cell processes, has been approved for certain cancers.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1535-1555, June 2026.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Re‐Awakening Public Attention to the Silent Pandemic of Cancer Among Older Adults in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

open access: yesAging and Cancer, Volume 7, Issue 2, Page 77-84, June 2026.
ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...

LMO7 Suppresses Tumor‐Associated Macrophage Phagocytosis of Tumor Cells Through Degradation of LRP1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 35, 24 June 2026.
LMO7 in tumor‐associated macrophages suppresses phagocytosis of tumor cells and limits cytotoxic T lymphocytes infiltration, fostering tumor progression. Mechanistically, LMO7 mediates the ubiquitination and degradation of the phagocytic receptor LRP1, impairing its ability to engulf tumor cells and driving macrophages toward an antitumor phenotype ...

β‐Adrenergic Signaling Promotes Anti‐Tumor Immunity in TP53‐mutant Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 35, 24 June 2026.
β‐adrenergic stimulation enhances anti‐tumor immunity in TP53‐deficient oral squamous cell carcinoma by inducing tumor‐derived secretion of CXCL10, which attracts and activates cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. The findings demonstrate that β‐adrenergic signaling alters tumor–immune interactions via CXCL10‐mediated paracrine activation, revealing a neuro‐immune ...

Tetrastigma Hemsleyanum Polysaccharide Suppresses Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer by Disrupting the Hippo‐YAP/TEAD4‐PDIA4 Axis and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 34, 19 June 2026.
ABSTRACT Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) exhibits addiction to chronic endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, which sustains an aggressive metastatic phenotype through activation of the unfolded protein response (UPR). Here, we identify a previously unrecognized “ER‐stress addiction” axis in which the Hippo pathway effector TEAD4 directly ...

FKBP9 Enhances Colon Cancer Cell Proliferation by Inhibiting GPX4‐Mediated Ferroptosis

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
The significance of FKBP9 as a therapeutic target in colon cancer treatment, providing new avenues for strategies aimed at sensitizing cancer cells to ferroptosis and improving patient outcomes. ABSTRACT Colorectal cancer, a major health issue worldwide, exhibits intricate molecular mechanisms that necessitate further exploration, particularly ...
