Low breakdown voltage Schottky diode as voltage regulator
Experimental evidence is given showing that Ag-n-Si Schottky diodes with resistivity about 40 mΩcm have steeper reverse breakdown characteristics than corresponding low-voltage p-n junction regulator diodes fabricated by local epitaxy. Avalanche multiplication in such a diode starts at 1.7 V, and the device has a low positive temperature coefficient of

Effect of impact ionization in the InGaAs absorber on excess noise of avalanche photodiodes [PDF]
The effects of impact ionization in the InGaAs absorption layer on the multiplication, excess noise and breakdown voltage are modeled for avalanche photodiodes (APDs), both with InP and with InAlAs multiplication regions.

14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Reducing AC impedance measurement errors caused by the DC voltage dependence of broadband high-voltage bias-tees [PDF]
During the AC impedance characterization of devices, from the kHz-range up to the GHz-range, accuracy can be lost when a DC voltage is applied. Commercial high-voltage broadband bias-tees are often voltage-dependent, which can cause inaccuracies at low ...

Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

High frequency breakdown voltage [PDF]
This report contains information about the effect of frequency on the breakdown voltage of an air gap at standard pressure and temperature, 76 mm Hg and O{degrees}C, respectively. The frequencies of interest are 47 MHz and 60 MHz. Additionally, the breakdown in vacuum is briefly considered. The breakdown mechanism is explained on the basis of collision

Air breakdown characteristics in plane-plane and sphere gap electrode configuration under lightning impulse [PDF]
This report describes the air breakdown characteristics in plane-plane and sphere gap electrode configuration under lightning impulse. The breakdown in air (spark breakdown) is the transition of a non-sustaining discharge into a self sustaining ...

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.
