Reshaping Breast Cancer Survivorship Through Expanding the Indications for the Omission of Radiation

open access: yesCurrent Breast Cancer Reports
Abstract Purpose of Review As greater emphasis is placed on survivorship and long-term morbidity, more attention is being paid to de-escalation. This review examines areas where radiation may be safely omitted without compromising outcomes, thereby improving quality of life for breast cancer ...

Dual‐Targeted Biomimetic MoSe2 Nanozymes for Enhancing Peri‐Implant Soft Tissue Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐targeting biomimetic nanozyme, MoSe2@SPMM, selectively targets Staphylococcus aureus and oxidatively stressed macrophages. Near‐infrared activation couples contact‐enhanced photothermal bacterial eradication with reactive oxygen species scavenging to disrupt the pathogenic–immunological amplification loop.

Adaptive Network Stabilization Despite Profound Structural Reorganization in Human Organotypic Cultures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Adult human organotypic cortical slices undergo marked neuronal loss, laminar disruption, and glial activation, yet their network activity progressively stabilizes after a variable period. Electrophysiology, longitudinal calcium imaging, and quantitative histology show that structurally remodeled human circuits show adaptive capacity resulting in ...

BRCA1/2 variant landscape and clinical correlates in high-risk breast cancer patients from Eastern China

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
IntroductionGlobal advances in genetic testing are reshaping breast cancer management. Although large unselected Chinese cohorts have been reported, the BRCA1 and BRCA2 (BRCA1/2) variant landscape specifically in high-risk, clinically referred ...

Isocyanate‐Modified Melatplatin(IV) Enhances Antitumor Efficacy via TCF4/COL6A3‐Mediated Extracellular Matrix Remodeling and cGAS‐STING Pathway Activation in Bladder Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A series of melatonin‐conjugated platinum(IV) prodrugs was functionalized with isocyanate chains (compounds 5‒12). MP‐12C (compound 11) was identified as the lead candidate, with optimal potency and safety. MP‐12C exhibited greater efficacy than cisplatin by increasing intracellular uptake, reshaping the extracellular matrix, activating the cGAS‐STING ...

SPOCK1 promotes the progression of breast cancer by modulating cancer-associated fibroblasts and exerts a synergistic effect with ANXA2

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundSPOCK1, a matricellular glycoprotein, has been implicated in tumor progression, metastasis, and the tumor immune microenvironment, yet its specific roles in breast cancer (BRCA) remain unclear.

The human microbiome reshapes the breast cancer immune-metabolic-hormonal microenvironment

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Beyond established risk factors such as genetics and hormones, the human microbiome has emerged as a pivotal player in breast cancer pathogenesis. This review delineates the technological evolution in breast microbiome research, spanning traditional culture methods to high-throughput sequencing and cutting-edge spatial omics.
