Summary Plants and soils have been moved around the world for centuries, but invasive mushrooms receive scant attention. The Amanita muscaria species complex was introduced to South Africa in the context of forestry, but its origins, ecology and recent evolution are unstudied. We sequenced the genomes of 24 Northern and Southern Hemisphere A. muscaria,

Abstract The food enzyme glucan 1,4‐α‐glucosidase (4‐α‐d‐glucan glucohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.3) is produced with the genetically modified Aspergillus niger strain NZYM‐BF by Novozymes A/S. The safety of this food enzyme was evaluated previously and it did not give rise to safety concerns when used in two food manufacturing processes.

Abstract The food enzyme with aspergillopepsin I (EC 3.4.23.18) and carboxypeptidase C (EC 3.4.16.5) activities is produced with the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus sp. strain ACP 112–311 by Shin Nihon Chemical Co., Ltd. The food enzyme was considered free from viable cells of the production organism.

Abstract The food enzyme subtilisin (EC 3.4.21.62) is produced with the non‐genetically modified Bacillus licheniformis strain NZYM‐CX by Novozymes A/S. The safety of this food enzyme was evaluated previously and it did not give rise to safety concerns when used in eight food manufacturing processes.

Mechanisms of Cr(III) biosorption onto residual brewer's yeast [PDF]
The knowledge and understanding of metal-biomass interactions is crucial to develop and maximize biosorption processes potential to the concentration, removal and recovery of heavy metals from dilute solutions, as well as to define strategies to ...
