Administrative responsibility in achieving the administrative control of the Public Road service - comparison study [PDF]

open access: yesالرافدین للحقوق
This study deals with the function of administrative control, in which public roads are considered the most important field. However, the administration is required to provide satisfying public traffic for individuals, and at the same time, it is ...

Feasibility Study of Strengthening Existing Single Span Steel Beam Concrete Deck Bridges; HR-214, June 1961 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1961
Iowa has the same problem that confronts most states in the United States: many bridges constructed more than 20 years ago either have deteriorated to the point that they are inadequate for original design loads or have been rendered inadequate by ...

Two-dimensional graphene bridges enhanced photoinduced charge transport in dye-sensitized solar cells.

open access: yesACS Nano, 2010
As a novel two-dimensional (2D) material, graphene shows great benefits in electric and material science. Compared to 1D nanomaterials, it may show more excellent properties.

Weakening the nuclear envelope: Lamin B receptor in melanoma metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LBR‐driven nuclear fragility supports melanoma invasion. A: Melanocyte presents low LBR (Lamin B Receptor) levels, maintaining nuclear integrity and lamina‐chromatin tethering. B: During malignant progression, upregulation of LBR clusters at the INM (Inner Nuclear Membrane) during confined migration causes local lamina weakening and cholesterol ...

Modelling Extreme Traffic Loading on Bridges Using Kernal Density Estimators

open access: yes, 2012
Innovations on Bridges and Soil-Bridge Interaction (IBSBI 2011), Athens, Greece, October 13-15, 2011Kernel density estimators are a non-parametric method of estimating the probability density function of sample data.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

CFRP Materials for Restoration of the Bearing Capacity of RC Beams With Damaged Rebar

open access: yesJournal of Engineering
Corrosion of the rebar in reinforced concrete (RC) structures is a critical concern, compromising their reliability and long-term operation. Carbon fibre–reinforced polymer (CFRP) tapes are widely used for strengthening RC structures due to their ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Numerical Simulation Strategy of Reinforced Concrete Tunnel Bearing Members in Fire

open access: yesThe Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering, 2006
Reinforced concrete structures subjected to fire will generally experience a complex behaviour. This paper presents a strategy of numerical simulation of reinforced concrete members exposed to high temperatures and subjected to external loading.
