Effects of intracameral tissue plasminogen activator injection on posterior capsular opacification, fibrin formation, and intraocular pressure in dogs after phacoemulsification

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To evaluate whether intracameral tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) injection is effective in regulating posterior capsular opacification (PCO), fibrin formation and intraocular pressure (IOP) after cataract surgery. Animal Studied Prospective study involving 30 eyes of 21 dogs that underwent phacoemulsification.

Anticholinesterase and carbonic anhydrase inhibitory activities of natural carnosic acid derivatives: A comprehensive in vitro and in silico study

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 358, Issue 3, March 2025.
Carnosic acid derivatives were evaluated for their inhibitory activities against acetyl‐ and butyrylcholinesterases (AChE, BChE) and carbonic anhydrases (CAs). Rosmanol exhibited exceptional potency, surpassing tacrine and acetazolamide. Molecular docking, MM‐GBSA, and MD simulations confirmed strong binding and stability.

Fish Fin‐Derived Non‐Invasive Flexible Bioinspired Contact Lens for Continuous Ophthalmic Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 6, February 10, 2025.
Inspired by the structure and reciprocating motion of fish dorsal fins, a drug‐eluting contact lens based on deformable microstructures for non‐invasive drug delivery is developed. The drug release rate can be adaptively adjusted to intraocular pressure changes and proactively regulated by cyclic ocular loads, enabling it to respond to elevated ...
