Monensin in Broiler Rations

Avian Diseases, 1973
SUMMARY A total of 3750 broiler chicks were reared on the floor in two experiments replicated 8-12 times. Rate of growth, feed efficiency, mortality, and coccidial lesions were investigated comparing two anticoccidial agents and a negative control group. Lesion scores (severity of 1-4) were determined on sacrificed chicks at 3/2 and 7 weeks of age.

Recycling of fungal treated broiler droppings in broiler mash

Agricultural Wastes, 1986
Broiler poultry droppings (PD) were solid-state fermented with Fusarium and Pleurotus fungi under controlled and room temperature conditions. Fungal fermentation, as well as reducing the crude fibre and available carbohydrates, resulted in the reduction of uric acid from 7·0% in untreated PD to around 1·0%.
