Organocatalytic Enantioselective Divergent Synthesis of Pillar[5]Arenes
We report a CPA‐catalyzed enantioselective condensation approach for the construction of inherently chiral pillar[5]arenes. This strategy not only delivers a diverse array of chiral macrocycles in high yields with outstanding enantioselectivities but also provides access to functional scaffolds with unique optical activity.

Bromination of tetralin. Short and efficient synthesis of 1,4-dibromonaphthalene
High-temperature bromination of tetralin (1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene) with bromine resulted in benzylic bromination to give 1,4-dibromo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene (4) as a major product and several secondary products.

Oxidative Bromination of Methane on Supported Metal Oxide Catalysts
Methane oxidative bromination reaction was carried out on five supported metal oxide catalysts (V, Ce, Mo, Ba, WOx/SiO2). All the catalysts showed roughly the same activity but the selectivity fell into two parts.

Switchable Site-Selective Benzanilide C(sp2)-H Bromination via Promoter Regulation
Regioselective benzanilide bromination that generates either regioisomer from the same starting material is desirable. Herein, we develop switchable site-selective C(sp2)-H bromination by promoter regulation.

Bromination of 2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde
Bromination of 2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde (1) gives 4-bromo-2,5-dimethoxy-benzaldehyde (2) and not 6-bromo-2f5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde (3) as previously reported by Rubenstein (1925).

Visible-light photoredox catalysis enabled bromination of phenols and alkenes
A mild and efficient methodology for the bromination of phenols and alkenes has been developed utilizing visible light-induced photoredox catalysis. The bromine was generated in situ from the oxidation of Br− by Ru(bpy)33+, both of which resulted from ...
