NARFL Knockout Triggers Ferroptosis‐Driven Vascular Endothelial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NARFL is vital for CIA and oxidative stress resistance. NARFL deletion in HPMEC cells, zebrafish, and mice is lethal and rescued by a Ferroptosis inhibitor. NARFL deficiency disrupted its interaction with CIA proteins, decreased aconitase activity, increased IRP1 activity, induced Fe overload, and led to ferroptosis and oxidative stress, resulting in ...

Myeloid p38 activation maintains macrophage–liver crosstalk and BAT thermogenesis through IL‐12–FGF21 axis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Physiological activation of myeloid p38 controls macrophage IL‐12 production and crosstalk to the liver by modulating hepatic FGF21, and subsequently, brown adipose tissue thermogenesis during obesity Abstract Obesity features excessive fat accumulation in several body tissues and induces a state of chronic low‐grade inflammation that contributes to ...

Correlation between clinical symptoms and forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) in patients of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma

open access: yesMRIMS Journal of Health Sciences, 2019
Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and Bronchial Asthma are the major causes of pulmonary disability. These diseases are characterized by airway obstruction.

Nucleosomes indicate the in vitro radiosensitivity of irradiated bronchoepithelial and lung cancer cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Nucleosomes, which are typical cell death products, are elevated in the serum of cancer patients and are known to rapidly increase during radiotherapy.

Rupestonic Acid of Artemisia Rupestris L. Extract Treats Pulmonary Fibrosis in COPD by Targeting TGF‐β1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RA of EEAR inhibits TGF‐β1 ubiquitination and changes conformation by target binding TGF‐β1, regulating TGF‐β1/Smad2/3 signaling pathway. Thus it down‐regulated downstream protein expression, inhibited EMT and collagen deposition of ECM, in order to EEAR preventing PF in COPD.

A Unique Chimeric RNA: ERCC1‐iASPP Drives Benzo[a]pyrene‐Induced Lung Carcinogenesis via Dual Coding and Non‐Coding Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The chimeric RNA ERCC1‐iASPP possesses dual coding and non‐coding functions, synergistically accelerating the process of cellular malignant transformation. Abstract Genetic variation at 19q13.3 critically modulates chemical carcinogen‐induced lung carcinogenesis, particularly in mediating the activity of benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P), a major polycyclic ...

Bronchial patency in dust diseases

open access: yesKazan medical journal, 2022
Currently, the role of bronchospasm in the development of respiratory insufficiency in pulmonary patients has been fully proven [1, 4, 8, 9, etc.]. The severity of bronchospasm is usually determined using a pneumotachometer of the power (maximum volumetric velocity) of the air jet during exhalation [3, 4, 10, 12).

De Novo Gene Transcription of Connexin Mediates Cytoplasmic Fluid Exchange and Flocking Transitions in Physiological and Cancerous Epithelial Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
EGF‐induced de novo transcription of connexins Cx26 and Cx31 promotes flocking behavior that fluidizes epithelia and enables coordinated collective migration. Connexin‐driven cytoplasmic exchange mechanistically links growth‐factor signaling to invasive dynamics.

Inactivation of AXL in Cardiac Fibroblasts Alleviates Right Ventricular Remodeling in Pulmonary Hypertension

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a progressive condition with high morbidity and mortality, largely owing to right ventricular (RV) failure resulting from maladaptive remodeling. Our study provides strong evidence in support of a critical, detrimental role for AXL as a previously unrecognized determinant driving RV fibrotic pathology in PH.
