A Novel Plant Secondary Metabolite‐Binding Gene Family Required for Full Virulence in Pectobacterium parvum

A newly identified virulence family from Pectobacterium parvum that binds plant defensive compounds (e.g., solanidine) with high affinity enhances bacterial tolerance and is required for full virulence. This trade‐off between defence and growth reveals a key host‐adaptation strategy.

Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of the feed additive consisting of l‐isoleucine produced by fermentation with Corynebacterium glutamicum CGMCC 32505 as a nutritional additive in feed or water for drinking for all animal species and categories.
