Three Brown-Rot Fungi in the Corticiaceae

Crustoderma resinosum and two new species, Crustoderma flavescens and C. opuntiae, are described and illustrated. All are associated with brown rots. Cultural characters are included for all species. Cultures previously reported as Unknown A were found to be idenĀ­ tical to polysporous cultures of C. flavescens. Gilbertson recently reported (1980, 1981)

Efficacy of Pinosylvins against White-Rot and Brown-Rot Fungi

Summary Three stilbenes, pinosylvin (PS), pinosylvin monomethyl ether (PSM) and pinosylvin dimethyl ether (PSD), were extracted from white spruce (Picea glauca), jack pine (Pinus banksiana), and red pine (Pinus resinosa) pine cones, and their structures were confirmed by spectroscopic and chromatographic (HPLC, GC/MS, NMR and FTIR) analysis.
