Control of metal-insulator transition temperature in VO2 thin films grown on RuO2/TiO2 templates by strain modification

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
Ruthenium dioxide (RuO2) is an ideal buffer layer for vanadium dioxide (VO2) heterostructures due to its high electrical conductivity and matching crystal structure with metallic VO2.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

HETEROSTRUCTURE BUFFER LAYERS

open access: yesIzvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii. Materialy Elektronnoi Tekhniki = Materials of Electronics Engineering, 2018
The problem of choosing the architecture of buffer layers is considered. This is typical problem faced when standard models of different heterostructures with a controlled level of mechanical stresses and low defect density in the bulk and at the layer boundaries are developed.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Improved Performance of GaN-Based Light-Emitting Diodes Grown on Si (111) Substrates with NH3 Growth Interruption

open access: yesMicromachines, 2021
We demonstrate the highly efficient, GaN-based, multiple-quantum-well light-emitting diodes (LEDs) grown on Si (111) substrates embedded with the AlN buffer layer using NH3 growth interruption.

Nano-Scale ZnO Buffer Layer for Inkjet-Printed Polymer Solar Cells

open access: yes, 2008
Zinc oxide (ZnO) was used as a buffer layer in the fabrication of polymer solar cells with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/P3HT:PCBM/ZnO/Ag, in which the Ag cathode was prepared by inkjet printing using silver ink. Due to the hydrophobic nature of the

Nutrient/TOR signaling controls adipose mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM) to regulate organismal growth in Drosophila

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Animals must match their growth rate to available nutrients. We show that in Drosophila larvae, the nutrient‐sensing TOR kinase controls growth by regulating levels of TFAM, a key regulator of mitochondrial function, in the adipose tissue. When nutrients are abundant, high TOR activity suppresses TFAM, lowering mitochondrial bioenergetic activity and ...

Enhancement and Reduction of Nonradiative Decay Process in Organic Light-Emitting Diodes by Gold Nanoparticles

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2016
The influences of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) and the buffer layer on the performance of organic light-emitting diodes are investigated in this study. The GNPs are doped into poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) and the ...

Enabling Realistic Cross-Layer Analysis based on Satellite Physical Layer Traces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a solution to evaluate the performance of transport protocols as a function of link layer reliability schemes (i.e. ARQ, FEC and Hybrid ARQ) applied to satellite physical layer traces.
