Building performance optimization of net zero-energy buildings
Building performance optimization (BPO) paired with building performance simulation (BPS) is a promising solution for evaluating many different design options and obtaining the optimal or near-optimal solution for a given objective or combination of objectives while complying with constraints.

Evaluation of financial aspects and energy performance indicators of residential real estate in the Netherlands [PDF]
The introduction of the concept of sustainable building in the construction industry has led to different measures to reduce the environmental impact of building objects in the past decades. Because the built environment accounts for more than 40% of the

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Energy Performance Indices for Hospital Buildings in Nigeria
In Nigeria, the economic problem of allocating energy to medicare have long been a major concern and standardized indices to be used as guidance are non-existent. This paper determines energy indices for assessment of how Nigerian hospitals prioritize

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Regulations and robust low-carbon buildings [PDF]
Building regulations and associated calculation methods have been rapidly evolving, driven in Europe by the European Union Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. As an example, the current UK regulations are explored in relation to buildings that are

CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Energy Efficiency Prediction using Artificial Neural Network [PDF]
Buildings energy consumption is growing gradually and put away around 40% of total energy use. Predicting heating and cooling loads of a building in the initial phase of the design to find out optimal solutions amongst different designs is very important,
