CHARACTERIZATION OF LEANYER VIRUS: RESEMBLANCE TO BUNYAVIRUS

Australian Journal of Experimental Biology and Medical Science, 1983
SummaryThe properties of Leanyer virus, isolated in Northern Australia in 1974, were compared with those of Bunyamwera virus. Leanyer virus replicated in BHK‐21 and Vero cells. In sucrose gradients it had a density of 1·17 g/cm3 and sedimented with the same S value as Bunyamwera virus. The diameter of negatively stained virions was approximately 110 nm.

Canadian bunyavirus morphogenesis in arctic mosquitoes

Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1978
Morphogenesis of two Canadian Bunyavirus isolates, the snowshoe háre subtype of California encephalitis (CE) virus, and Northway (NOR) virus, has been studied in salivary glands of wild-caught Aedes communis mosquitoes from the Western Canadian Arctic.

Bunyavirus RNA Synthesis: Genome Transcription and Replication

1991
The three bunyavirus genome segments, termed small (S), medium (M), and large (L), are found both in virions and infected cells as viral nucleocapsids (NCs). These are large, possibly helical, structures in which the RNA is complexed with predominantly the viral N protein, with sedimentation constants (S20,w)for La Crosse virus (LAC) of 115S (L), 90S ...

Anti-mRNAs in La Crosse bunyavirus-infected cells

Journal of Virology, 1990
Unlike some members of the family Bunyaviridae which contain ambisense genomes, all La Crosse virus reading frames are translated from antigenome sense mRNAs. Nevertheless, La Crosse virus genome sense mRNAs or anti-mRNAs are initiated from antigenome templates.

mRNAs of Uukuniemi Virus, a Bunyavirus

1985
Bunyaviruses are enveloped arthropod-borne viruses containing a tripartite single-stranded RNA genome of negative polarity. We have studied the strategy of gene expression of one member of this large family, namely Uukuniemi virus, the prototype of the genus Uukuvirus.

Arenavirus, Filovirus, Bunyavirus.

2020
