Effects of Centrifugal Buoyancy and Reynolds Number on Turbulent Heat Transfer in a Two-Pass Angled-RIB-Roughened Channel with Sharp 180° Turns Investigated by Using Large Eddy Simulation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Rotating Machinery, 2008
The effects of the centrifugal buoyancy and the Reynolds number on heat transfer in a rotating two-pass rib-roughened channel with 180° sharp turns were numerically investigated by using the large eddy simulation.

On the Asymptotic Approach to Thermosolutal Convection in Heated Slow Reactive Boundary Layer Flows

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2008
The study sought to investigate thermosolutal convection and stability of two dimensional disturbances imposed on a heated boundary layer flow over a semi-infinite horizontal plate composed of a chemical species using a self-consistent asymptotic method.

Symmetric Reduction and Hamilton-Jacobi Equation of Rigid Spacecraft with a Rotor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we consider the rigid spacecraft with an internal rotor as a regular point reducible regular controlled Hamiltonian (RCH) system. In the cases of coincident and non-coincident centers of buoyancy and gravity, we give explicitly the motion ...

Microfluidic Engineering of Chitosan‐Coated Nanoemulsions for Controlled Release and Stability in Space Pharmaceutics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Microfluidic engineering enables the fabrication of chitosan‐coated, melatonin‐loaded nanoemulsions with controlled release and enhanced physicochemical stability for space pharmaceutics. Interfacial biopolymer coating modulates droplet behavior under accelerated thermal stress and simulated microgravity.

High‐Power Rapid Laser‐Induced Synthesis of Multi‐functional Cobalt Metal‐Organic Framework With an Unprecedented Synthesis Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.

Turbulence decay in the density-stratified intracluster medium

open access: yes, 2019
Turbulence evolution in a density-stratified medium differs from that of homogeneous isotropic turbulence described by the Kolmogorov picture. We evaluate the degree of this effect in the intracluster medium (ICM) with hydrodynamical simulations. We find

Soft Robotic Snake with Tunable Undulatory Gait for Efficient Underwater Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study designs an underwater soft snake robot using 3D‐printed soft actuators, controlled by specific signals to generate sinusoidal undulation. Results show a positive correlation between speed and swing amplitude, with optimal performance at 2/3π phase offset, PLA tail, 1.2 voltage growth rate, and 6s undulation period achieving a maximum speed ...

Preliminary numerical study on hydrogen distribution characteristics in the process that flow regime transits from jet to buoyancy plume in time and space

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2019
Hydrogen-steam gas mixture may be injected into containment with flow regime varying both spatially and transiently due to wall effect and pressure difference between primary loop and containment in severe accidents induced by loss of coolant accident ...
