Abstract Because of its life‐saving benefits, perioperative IV fluid therapy remains a cornerstone of medical treatment. However, it also induces sustained edemagenic stress. The resulting persistent interstitial edema—excessive fluid accumulation in the interstitium—significantly delays recovery and worsens patient outcomes.
