Rethinking Spatial Prioritisation for Primate Conservation in an Unprotected Intact Forest Landscape in the Gulf of Guinea

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, EarlyView.
This study highlights the importance of the unprotected Yabassi Key Biodiversity Area, Cameroon, for primate conservation in the Gulf of Guinea biodiversity hotspot. Exploring legal‐ and health‐risk messaging to reduce demand for elephant skin

Abstract Asian elephants (Elephas maximus) are poached for an illegal trade in their skins, which are used in traditional medicine in Africa and Asia.
