Catalytic Alcoholysis of Tetramethylsilane via Pt-Mediated C−H Bond Activation [PDF]
Tetramethylsilane reacts with 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (TFE) in the presence of a cationic platinum(II) catalyst [(NN)PtMe(TFE)]+ (NN = 1,2-bis(3,5-dimethylphenylimino)butane).

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Activation and Oxidation of Mesitylene C−H Bonds by (Phebox)Iridium(III) Complexes [PDF]
A pincer iridium(III) complex, (Phebox)Ir(OAc)_2OH_2 (1) (Phebox = 3,5-dimethylphenyl-2,6-bis(oxazolinyl)), selectively cleaves the benzylic C–H bond of mesitylene to form an isolable iridium mesityl complex, (Phebox)Ir(mesityl)(OAc) (3), in >90% yield ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Transition state energy decomposition study of acetate-assisted and internal electrophilic substitution C−H bond activation by (acac-O,O)_2Ir(X) complexes (X = CH_3COO, OH) [PDF]
Chelate-assisted and internal electrophilic substitution type transition states were studied using a DFT-based energy decomposition method. Interaction energies for benzene and methane C−H bond activation by (acac-O,O)_2Ir(X) complexes (X = CH_3COO and ...

Stoichiometric and catalytic C-C and C-H bond formation with B(C6F5)3 via cationic intermediates [PDF]
This work showcases a new catalytic cyclization reaction using a highly Lewis acidic borane with concomitant C−H or C−C bond formation. The activation of alkyne‐containing substrates with B(C6F5)3 enabled the first catalytic intramolecular cyclizations ...
