Elucidation of interface interactions between a dehydratase domain and an acyl carrier protein in cremimycin polyketide synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 599, Issue 8, Page 1159-1168, April 2025.
In modular polyketide synthases, the dehydratase (DH) domain catalyzes the dehydration reaction of the β‐hydroxyacyl unit attached to the cognate acyl carrier protein (ACP) domain. However, it is unclear how DH interacts with ACP during the reaction. In this study, we identified DH–ACP interface residues, providing the first detailed insights into DH ...

Synthesis and fluorine-mediated interactions in methanol-encapsulated solid state self-assembly of an isatin-thiazoline hybrid

open access: yes, 2015
International audienceAn exciting isatin-thiazoline hybrid molecule 2 having -C=N-N=C- linkage has been synthesized in 88% yield by the reaction of 5-fluoroisatin with N-(4-fluorophenyl)hydrazinecarbothioamide followed by condensation of the resultant ...

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of (Z)-N-{chloro[(4-ferrocenylphenyl)imino]methyl}-4-ferrocenylaniline N,N-dimethylformamide monosolvate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications
The title molecule, [Fe2(C5H5)2(C23H17ClN2)]·C3H7NO, is twisted end to end and the central N/C/N unit is disordered. In the crystal, several C—H...π(ring) interactions lead to the formation of layers, which are connected by further C—H...π(ring ...

tert-Butyl 2,3-dihydro-1H-cyclopenta[b]indole-4-carboxylate

open access: yesIUCrData, 2016
In the title molecule, C16H19NO2, all the non-hydrogen atoms except two of the C atoms of the tert-butyl group lie on a crystallographic mirror plane. No classical hydrogen bonds are observed.

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Unification of Electromagnetic Interactions and Gravitational Interactions [PDF]

open access: yesCommun.Theor.Phys.38:322-326,2002, 2002
Unified theory of gravitational interactions and electromagnetic interactions is discussed in this paper. Based on gauge principle, electromagnetic interactions and gravitational interactions are formulated in the same manner and are unified in a semi-direct product group of U(1) Abel gauge group and gravitational gauge group.

Ion channel function of polycystin‐2/polycystin‐1 heteromer revealed by structure‐guided mutagenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutations in polycystin‐1 (PC1) or polycystin‐2 (PC2) cause autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). We generated a novel gain‐of‐function PC2/PC1 heteromeric ion channel by mutating pore‐blocking residues. Moreover, we demonstrated that PC2 will preferentially assemble with PC1 to form heteromeric complexes when PC1 is co‐expressed ...
