The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Carcinoma of the fallopian tube is a rare gynecologic malignancy. Its histologic appearance and patterns of spread are similar to those of epithelial ovarian cancer. Alterations in the gene products of c-erbB-2 (HER-2/neu) and p53 are found commonly in ovarian tumors and may have prognostic relevance.
