Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Molekulare Veränderungen beim Pankreaskarzinom [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Zusammenfassung: Grundlagen: Das Pankreaskarzinom hat eine infauste Prognose. Die Ursachen für das aggressive Tumorwachstum und die frühe Metastasierung sind nur unzureichend bekannt.

Breast cancer or metastasis? An unusual case of metastatic malignant pleural mesothelioma to the breast [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background: Metastases to the breast from extramammary malignancies are very rare, and ruling out the diagnosis of primary breast tumor is important in order to decide on clinical management and predict prognosis.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

c-erbB-2 Oncoprotein Content in Gastric Cancer and in Adjacent Mucosa

open access: yesThe International Journal of Biological Markers, 2000
The aim of this study was to evaluate, by means of an immunoenzymatic assay, the membranous and cytosolic c-erbB-2 oncoprotein contents in primary tumors and in adjacent mucosa from gastric cancer patients.

Oral contraceptive use and salivary C-erbB-2, CEA and CA15-3 in healthy women : a case-control study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Objectives: Oral contraceptives (OCP) are highly effective, safe and widely used. Higher exposure to endogenous and exogenous estrogens is generally thought to increase the risk of breast cancer. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine if oral

A Tri‐Culture Heart‐on‐a‐Chip Platform With iPSC‐Derived Cardiac Cells for Predictive Cardiotoxicity Testing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents the first entirely isogenic heart‐on‐chip, unifying cardiomyocytes, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells from a single iPSC source. The platform reveals a critical biological insight: the endothelium actively shields cardiac tissue from drug‐induced toxicity, challenging the predictive accuracy of conventional, avascular models for ...

Limited Prognostic Value of c-erbB-2 Compared to uPA and PAI-1 in Primary Breast Carcinoma

open access: yesThe International Journal of Biological Markers, 2003
In a retrospective study of 488 women with primary breast cancer, after a median follow-up of 10 years, we sought interactions between disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) and tumor antigen levels of two components of the plasminogen ...

乳癌における癌遺伝子産物の免疫組織学的検討 : C-erbB-2 product を中心に [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990

c-erbB-2 expression in benign and malignant breast disease [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Cancer, 1988
An antibody, 21N, raised against a synthetic peptide from the predicted sequence of the c-erbB-2 protein has been used immunocytochemically in a retrospective study of formalin fixed paraffin embedded breast biopsies. Fourteen out of 103 infiltrating ductal carcinomas exhibited positive membrane staining.
