The ovarian cancer associated antigen CA 125 in patients with pleural effusions
European Journal of Cancer and Clinical Oncology, 1988The concentration of the ovarian cancer associated antigen CA 125 was determined in the pleural fluid of 25 patients with lung cancer and of 40 patients with benign diseases. Paired serum and pleural fluid samples were measured in 21 tumor patients and 34 patients with nonmalignant diseases. Serum CA 125 was elevated (greater than 35 U/ml) in 16 of 25 (

In vitro stability of the immunoreactivity of the ovarian cancer-associated antigen CA 125
Scandinavian Journal of Clinical & Laboratory Investigation, 1989A commercially available two-site solid phase radio-immunoassay was used to study the influence of time and temperature on the in vitro stability of CA 125. In whole blood samples stored at 20 degrees C the CA 125 immunoreactivity increased significantly after 2 days of storage.

The concentration of the tumor marker CA 125 in tumor tissue, cyst fluid, ascites fluid, and serum from patients with epithelial ovarian tumors was quantitated. Immunohistologic studies showed that CA 125 was present in 90% of the nonmucinous epithelial ovarian tumors. Quantitative analysis of the fluid from 57 cysts revealed that CA 125 was present in

The effect of abdominal surgery on the serum concentration of the tumour‐associated antigen CA 125
BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 1990Summary. The CA 125 assay is used to monitor the course of disease in women with adenocarcinoma of the genital tract. We measured serum CA 125 levels longitudinally in three different groups of patients who had normal scrum CA 125 levels (16 U/ml) before extensive intraperitoneal abdominal surgery (group 1, second‐look laparotomy in 28 women with ...

The present study was undertaken to characterize the antigenic determinant of the CA 125 macromolecules recognized by newly developed monoclonal antibodies (M 11, 130-22, 145-9, 602-1, and 602-6), examine their relationship among the epitopes recognized by these antibodies, and develop a series of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) in which ...

The role of cancer antigen 125 (CA 125) in the management of ovarian epithelial carcinomas
Gynecologic Oncology, 1988From June 1, 1984, to May 31, 1985, 98 cases of epithelial ovarian carcinomas were assessed and followed prospectively using a new murine monoclonal antibody OC 125 which detects the antigen CA 125. Serous tumors comprised 43.7% of cases, mucinous tumors 20.4%, endometrioid tumors 16%, and other epithelial tumors 19.4%.

Tumor Antigens CA 19.9, CA 125, and CEA in Carcinoma of the Uterine Cervix
Gynecologic Oncology, 1995Serum levels of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and cancer antigens CA 125 and CA 19.9 were determined by immunoradiometric assay in 96 patients diagnosed of invasive carcinoma of the uterine cervix and 7 patients of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.

Cancer Antigen CA 125 in Serum of Patients with Ovarian Cancer
1985Abstract CA 125 was analysed in serum of 111 patients with ovarian carcinoma. 40 of these patients suffered from manifest cancer, 71 were clinically symptom free after primary treatment of completely resectable disease. Sera from 36 healthy women and 10 patients with benign gyn-disorders served as control.
