[Cancer antigen CA 125 in ovarian cancer].
To estimate the diagnostic and prognostic value, pathological and clinical correlation of cancer antigen 125 (CA125) in ovarian cancer (OC). Retrospective analysis was done of 350 patients who were operated for OC in years 1990-2001 in Gynecology Clinic MU of Gdansk. We analyzed those before primary operation (PO) and second look laparotomy (SLL).

By integrating data from in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models, our research identifies the MARV glycoprotein as a remarkable hemorrhagic factor, filling a major gap in this important field. It also provides practical experimental tools for the basic research on viral pathogenesis and applied research aimed at antiviral intervention for hemorrhagic ...

Ovarian cancer antigen CA 125 levels in pelvic inflammatory disease and pregnancy [PDF]
Circulating CA 125 levels were studied in patients with gynecologic cancer and pelvic inflammatory disease, and in pregnant women. The CA 125 level was elevated (greater than 35 U/ml) in 69% (9/13) of patients with active ovarian cancer, in 32% (7/22) of patients with active cervical or endometrial cancer, in 24% (11/46) of pregnant women, and in 33 ...

A healthy gut barrier shields underlying fibroblasts from luminal shear forces, illustrating that “good fences make good neighbors.” Barrier damage exposes fibroblasts to shear stress, inducing cell death and the emergence of stress‐adapted, profibrotic fibroblasts. Sustained shear exposure promotes the formation of stiff aggregates of mechanoadapative

O‐GlcNAcylated TAP1 Impairs Antigen Presentation and Promotes Immune Evasion in Bladder Cancer
This article unveils a critical mechanism of immune evasion in bladder cancer, which the O‐GlcNAc modification of TAP1 disrupts antigen presentation. This modification triggers HLA‐A degradation, shielding tumor cells from CD8+ T cell attack. The findings highlight targeting this pathway as a promising therapeutic avenue to sensitize tumors to ...

Serum CA 125, carcinoembryonic antigen, and CA 19-9 as tumor markers in borderline ovarian tumors
Objectives. The goals of this study were to analyze preoperative serum levels of CA 125, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), and CA 19-9 in patients with borderline ovarian tumors and to investigate if routine assessment of these markers in follow-up may ...

HNRNPD promotes radioresistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma by enhancing stress granule assembly and sequestering GRAMD4 mRNA. This suppresses GRAMD4 translation and inhibits mitochondrial apoptosis. Targeting the integrated stress response with ISRIB restores GRAMD4 expression and sensitizes tumors to radiotherapy, revealing a translational control ...
