How is Nanoarchitectonics Shaping Extracellular Vesicle Research?
The convergence of nanoarchitectonics and extracellular vesicle biology is reshaping next‐generation nanomedicine by enabling rationally designed nanostructures for enhanced EVs detection, engineering, and therapy. ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have gained recognition as crucial mediators of cell‐to‐cell communication, holding immense potential

Advancing Human Skin Equivalents: The Crucial Role of Neurovascular Integration
This review discusses the importance of integrating vascular and peripheral nerve systems into human skin equivalents (HSEs) to better recapitulate native skin physiology. Recent advances in vascularized, innervated, and neurovascularized HSEs are highlighted, together with emerging bioengineering strategies, current challenges, and future ...

Calcium homeostasis imbalance in sepsis: molecular mechanisms and therapeutic perspectives
Calcium ions (Ca2+) are pleiotropic signaling messengers that regulate diverse cellular processes, and their homeostasis is essential for normal physiology at cellular, tissue, and organismal levels. Accumulating evidence identifies Ca2+ dysregulation as

The slow sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase declines independently of slow myosin in soleus muscle of diabetic rats [PDF]
The sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase (SERCA) isoforms are normally expressed in coordination with the corresponding myosin heavy chain (MyHC) isoforms in the fibers of skeletal muscle but this coordination is often disrupted in pathological conditions.

Interplay between myotubularins and Ca2+ homeostasis
The myotubularin family, encompassing myotubularin 1 (MTM1) and 14 myotubularin-related proteins (MTMRs), represents a conserved group of phosphatases featuring a protein tyrosine phosphatase domain. Nine members are characterized by an active phosphatase domain C(X)5R, dephosphorylating the D3 position of PtdIns(3)P and PtdIns(3,5)P2.

3D‐Printed Corneal Substitutes: Materials, Fabrication, and Preclinical Progress
Successful clinical translation of 3D‐printed corneal substitutes relies on the interplay between the bioink properties, cellular component, and the fabrication process. These factors influence the critical properties of the construct, including optical transparency, mechanical stability, suture retention, that ultimately govern long‐term stromal ...
