Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Cartesian Control of a Cable-Driven Haptic Mechanism

open access: yes, 2010
Haptic devices operated through a communication network require a trade-off between the stability of the interaction and the quality of the haptic display. A haptic device must be designed to provide the best haptic display in order to reproduce the tactile sensation of virtual objects, rigid or soft, while ensuring a stable operation to guarantee user

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

A Planar Cable-Driven Under-Sensing Model to Measure Forces and Displacements

open access: yesMachines
This paper presents a planar cable-driven model of a simple mechanism that is able to measure forces and displacements. Recently, a preliminary study based on a cable-driven sensitive mechanism was presented to the research community, underlining the ...

Structure–Function Decoupling of the Sensorimotor and Default Mode Networks in Black Americans With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

ALDOA Promotes Glycolysis and NLRP3/GSDMD Pyroptosis to Accelerate ALS Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Glycolytic dysregulation is implicated in disease progression, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates how Aldolase A (ALDOA) drives ALS progression through glycolysis‐mediated motor neuron pyroptosis.

Simulation and Control with XDE and Matlab/Simulink of a Cable-Driven Parallel Robot (CoGiRo)

open access: yes, 2014
International audienceWe present in this paper the process allowing to create a cable-driven parallel robot (CDPR) simulation within the XDE software environment in C++ language. The elementary classes constituting a CDPR are shown with their constructor

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Electrochemical Evaluation of Compressed Selective Laser Melted AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg Alloys in Chloride Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

Dynamic modeling and experimental verification of a cable-driven continuum manipulator with cable-constrained synchronous rotating mechanisms

open access: yesNonlinear dynamics, 2021
The cable-driven segmented manipulator with cable-constrained synchronous rotating mechanisms is a new type of continuum manipulator, which has large stiffness and fewer motors, and thus exhibits excellent comprehensive performance. This paper presents a
