Lateral bending models of spring spine for cable-driven parallel mechanism

Proceeding of the 11th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation, 2014
Cable-driven parallel robots with flexible spring spine were present to mimic a human neck. The fixed base and moving platform of the robots are connected by cables and a compression spring. The spring serves as cervical spine to support and facilitate the motion of moving platform corresponding to human head.

Analytic Determination of Wrench Closure Workspace of Spatial Cable Driven Parallel Mechanisms

Volume 5C: 39th Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, 2015
This paper proposes an efficient way of determining analytically the Wrench Closure Workspace (WCW) of spatial redundant cable-driven parallel mechanisms (CDPM). The method builds upon the boundary surface equations obtained from the null space of the structure matrix of CDPM. The set of feasible solutions is obtained that satisfies positive tension in

A hybrid vibration suppression strategy for redundant cable-driven parallel mechanisms

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science
Suppressing the vibration of cable-driven parallel mechanisms (CDPMs) is of great significance for improving their performance such as positioning accuracy. In this paper, a hybrid vibration suppression strategy based on stiffness enhancement and input shaping is proposed to reduce the vibration of a CDPM in the process of moving.

Conceptual Design of a Cable Driven Parallel Mechanism for Planar Earthquake Simulation

2016
Earthquake simulation is helpful in order for society to experience real seismic waves in safe environment. Cable-driven parallel mechanisms have advantages over conventional serial and parallel mechanisms. Prototype simulator which covers 1 m stroke in each direction has been built.

Structural Characteristics of Force/Moment Polytopes of Cable Driven Parallel Mechanisms

2015
The force/moment capability of cable driven parallel mechanisms is characterized by force/moment polytopes resulting from a linear transformation between the space of cable tension and the space of the force/moment of the moving platform. Conventional method developed in computational geometry has been used to identify the vertices and faces of the ...
