Investigation of Neurotoxicity Oxidative Stress and Oxidative DNA Damage in Cadmium-Induced Brain Injury in Rats

open access: yes, 2023
Cadmium, which is one of the toxic metals widely used in many areas of the world, is taken intothe body in different ways. In this study, the damage caused by cadmium in the brain and howthis damage affects the levels of glial fibrial acidic protein, 8 ...

Identification and characterization of a gene conferring stress resistance in Escherichia coli and cyanobacteria

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Functional screening identified PcSyn14890, a cyanobacteria‐specific protein that enhances growth and stress resistance in E. coli and Synechocystis PCC6803. Although we expected it to function as a molecular chaperone, it was unable to protect against thermal aggregation of GAPDH.

Lactational transfer of cadmium in rodents - CNS effects in the offspring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This thesis comprises studies on the transfer of cadmium (Cd) from the lactating dam to the suckling and CNS effects of Cd during development, using rodents as a model.

Effect of Cadmium Stress on the Growth and Cadmium Absorption Rules of Different Tobacco Varieties

open access: yesGuangdong nongye kexue, 2023
【Objective】The research was conducted to explore the response of different varieties of tobacco to cadmium (Cd) stress, deeply understand the toxic effect of cadmium on tobacco, and provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and control of tobacco Cd

Genotoxic and stress inductive potential of cadmium in Xenopus laevis larvae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The present investigation evaluates the toxic potential of Cd in larvae of the frog Xenopus laevis after 12 days of exposure to environmentally relevant contamination levels, close to those measured in the river Lot (France).

Understanding Further the Phenotypic Spectrum of Central Nervous System Inflammatory Demyelinating Disorders Using Unsupervised Clustering

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) inflammatory demyelinating syndromes, including multiple sclerosis (MS), aquaporin‐4 antibody–positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (AQP4 + NMOSD), and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), occasionally overlap.

Safety and Tolerability of Givinostat: Evidence From Real‐World and Clinical Practice

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The aim of our study was to establish the prevalence of adverse events in a real‐world setting in boys living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) treated with givinostat as part of an Expanded Access Program (EAP) in Italy. Methods The cohort included 90 ambulant boys, with age when treatment started between 6 and 23 years (mean ...

Evaluation of exogenous melatonin in conferring tolerance to cadmium toxicity of Lycium barbarum: Oxidative stress, physiological and gene expression analysis

open access: yesPlant Stress
Cadmium impairs plant growth and fruit quality; the stress-tolerant medicinal woody plant Lycium barbarum could remediate Cadmium-contaminated soils, but its Cadmium-response mechanisms remain unknown.

Cadmium stress tolerance in crop plants [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Signaling & Behavior, 2011
Plants can't move away and are therefore continuously confronted with unfavorable environmental conditions (such as soil salinity, drought, heat, cold, flooding and heavy metal contamination). Among heavy metals, cadmium (Cd) is a non-essential and toxic metal, rapidly taken up by roots and accumulated in various plant tissues which hamper the crop ...

Disease Course After Anti‐CD20 Discontinuation in Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis—A Multicenter Long‐Term Longitudinal Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To describe long‐term outcomes after anti‐CD20 discontinuation in selected patients with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS) who remained without subsequent disease‐modifying therapy (DMT). Methods We retrospectively analyzed data from four centers in Austria and Switzerland.
