One‐Dimensional Materials Supported in Two‐Dimensional Van der Waals Metal–Organic Frameworks with Optical Anisotropy Switching via Twist‐Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a molecular strategy to assemble one‐dimensional (1D) materials into two‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Crystals of [FeX(pzX)(bpy)] (X = Cl, F) form anisotropic 2D layers that can be mechanically exfoliated into thin sheets.

Economic viability of cage-free system for commercial laying hens

open access: yes, 2022

2D MOF with Intrinsic Porosity for Colorimetric Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An uncommon 2D MOF with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that can be mechanically exfoliated undergoes a distinct and reversible colour change upon exposure to various volatile organic compounds. ABSTRACT In this work, we report an uncommon 2D metal–organic framework (MOF) with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that undergoes a distinct and reversible colour ...

Seasonal variations in egg quality traits in Belgrade supermarkets [PDF]

open access: yesBiotechnology in Animal Husbandry
The aim of this study was to determine the quality of eggs available in Belgrade supermarkets during different seasons (winter, spring, summer), for various housing systems (cage, floor, and free-range), and to assess the representation of eggs from cage

Large‐Scale Determination of Frontier Orbital Energies of Disordered Small‐Molecule Organic Semiconductors Using Exciplex Emission Spectra

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accurately knowing the frontier orbital energies of the structurally disordered small‐molecule organic semiconductors that are used in optoelectronic devices such as organic light‐emitting diodes is required to rationally improve their performance. Here, we show that these energies can be deduced with a large accuracy from the peak energies of

Ratiometric Mycotoxin Detection in Living Plants With Dual‐Emissive Nanosensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A minimally invasive microneedle patch integrates carbon dot‐embedded metal–organic frameworks as nanosensors to detect a key fungal toxin in living plants. The nanosensor produces a ratiometric fluorescence signal that enables early, non‐destructive diagnosis of fungal infection before visible symptoms, offering a new biomaterials‐based strategy for ...

Toward a Unified Mechanistic Understanding of Polymer Electrolytes for Advanced Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer electrolytes (PEs) are often indiscriminately grouped as “solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs)”, despite fundamental differences in their ion‐transport mechanisms. This Perspective establishes a mechanism‐based framework that distinguishes gel, quasi‐solid, and all‐solid polymer electrolytes based on their dominant ion‐transport pathways.

HEDONIC PRICE OF FREE-RANGE EGGS IN COSTA RICA

open access: yesApstract: Applied Studies in Agribusiness and Commerce
Eggs are a highly consumed animal product in Costa Rica. It is grown in different production systems and differentiation attributes, although there is little information about consumption and consumer preferences for grazing production. This study aimed
