From omics to AI—mapping the pathogenic pathways in type 2 diabetes
Integrating multi‐omics data with AI‐based modelling (unsupervised and supervised machine learning) identify optimal patient clusters, informing AI‐driven accurate risk stratification. Digital twins simulate individual trajectories in real time, guiding precision medicine by matching patients to targeted therapies.

Sinomenine attenuates uremia vascular calcification by miR-143-5p
Vascular calcification is considered to be a killer of the cardiovascular system, involved inflammation and immunity. There is no approved therapeutic strategy for the prevention of vascular calcification.

Induced pluripotent stem cell-derived smooth muscle cells to study cardiovascular calcification
Cardiovascular calcification is the lead predictor of cardiovascular events and the top cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. To date, only invasive surgical options are available to treat cardiovascular calcification despite the growing ...

Association of serum fetuin-A and biochemical parameters in hemodialysis patients. [PDF]
Fetuin-A, a hepatic glycoprotein present in the circulation, is a potential inhibitor for systemic calcification. The main aim of this study was to evaluate the association between fetuin-A and other biochemical parameters as facilitator factors for ...

Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Can the pattern of foraminiferal intratest trace element variations be explained by Ca dilution during biomineralization? [PDF]
Recently Hathorne et al. (2009) documented large intratest trace element (TE) variations in planktonic foraminifera from a single sediment trap sample that could not be explained by variations in water column properties.

Vascular calcification in chronic kidney disease: an update.
Cardiovascular calcification is both a risk factor and contributor to morbidity and mortality. Patients with chronic kidney disease (and/or diabetes) exhibit accelerated calcification of the intima, media, heart valves and likely the myocardium as well ...

TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

Atherosclerotic carotid plaque composition: a 3T and 7T MRI-histology correlation study [PDF]
Background and Purpose Carotid artery atherosclerotic plaque composition may influence plaque stability and risk of thromboembolic events, and non-invasive plaque imaging may therefore permit risk stratification for clinical management.
