Trends in Pharmacological Sciences, 1984Abstract Calcium ethylenediamineretra-acetate (CaEDTA), the chelating agent of choice for treatment of lead poisoning in man and domestic animals, induces histotoxic effects characterized by hydropic degeneration of renal tubular epithelium and necrosis of the duodenum epithelium, with loss of villous structure.
