Summary of the 13th IACHEC Meeting [PDF]
We summarize the outcome of the 13th meeting of the International Astronomical Consortium for High Energy Calibration (IACHEC), held at Tenuta dei Ciclamini (Avigliano Umbro, Italy) in April 2018. Fifty-one scientists directly involved in the calibration

Optimized in-flight absolute calibration for extended CMB surveys
Accurate measurements of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) anisotropy call for high precision and reliability of the in-flight calibration. For extended surveys the CMB dipole provides an excellent calibration source at frequencies lower than 200 GHz;

Spectrophotometric calibration of low-resolution spectra
Low-resolution spectroscopy is a frequently used technique. Aperture prism spectroscopy in particular is an important tool for large-scale survey observations. The ongoing ESA space mission Gaia is the currently most relevant example.

In-situ Broadband Cryogenic Calibration for Two-port Superconducting Microwave Resonators
We introduce an improved microwave calibration method for use in a cryogenic environment, based on a traditional three-standard calibration, the Thru-Reflect-Line (TRL) calibration.

Calibration of ultrafiltration membranes against size exclusion chromatography columns [PDF]
Using the extension of the concept of universal calibration parameter, yielding a relation between the hydrodynamic volume of molecules and the elution volume in sizeexclusionchromatography (SEC), to retention coefficients in ultrafiltration (UF), we ...

A DIA‐MS‐based proteomics analysis of serum samples from GB patients and healthy controls showed that high levels of IL1R2 and low levels of CRTAC1 and HRG in serum are associated with poor survival outcomes for GB patients. These circulating proteins could serve as biomarkers for the prediction of outcome in patients with GB.

Study of the Application of FY-3D/MERSI-II Far-Infrared Data in Wildfire Monitoring
In general, the far-infrared channel in the wavelength range of 10.5–12.0 µm plays an auxiliary role in wildfire detection as its sensitivity to high-temperature targets is far lower than the mid-infrared channel in the wavelength range of 3.5–4.0 µm at ...

Signal inference with unknown response: Calibration-uncertainty renormalized estimator
The calibration of a measurement device is crucial for every scientific experiment, where a signal has to be inferred from data. We present CURE, the calibration uncertainty renormalized estimator, to reconstruct a signal and simultaneously the ...
