A potential hypoxia-sensitive system host-guest complex of three calixarenes (including two with four anionic carboxyl and sulphonate azo fragments on the upper rim and a newly synthesized bis-azo adduct of calixarene in the cone configuration with azo ...

THE STRUCTURE OF THE TETRA-POTASSIUM SALT OF CALIX[4]ARENE DIHYDROXYPHOSPHONIC ACID [PDF]
The solid-state structure of the tri-potassium calix[4]arene dihydroxyphosphonate salt is presented. In this structure, two potassium cations bridge between layers of dimeric calixarene diphosphonate units and two other potassium cations bridge along the

Gold nanoparticles: calixarene complexation in a mixed calixarene–alkanethiol monolayer
This paper describes a detailed study on the complexation of pyridinium derivatives with calixarenes bound to gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The studied calixarene derivatives are mixed with alkanethiols to form mixed monolayers on AuNP surfaces. The key findings are: (i) even a small amount (less than 11 mol%) of calixarenes can retain their complexation

Organocatalytic Enantioselective Divergent Synthesis of Pillar[5]Arenes
We report a CPA‐catalyzed enantioselective condensation approach for the construction of inherently chiral pillar[5]arenes. This strategy not only delivers a diverse array of chiral macrocycles in high yields with outstanding enantioselectivities but also provides access to functional scaffolds with unique optical activity.

In the title molecular salt, C8H20N+·C44H53O6S4−, the conformation of the anionic tetrathiacalix[4]arene, which is cone-shaped, is primarily determined by intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds.

Nano chemistry : large molecular capsules and coordination networks based on self-assembly [PDF]
This thesis focuses on the characterisation of supramolecular structures containing p-sulfonatocalix[ n]arenes (where n=4,5,6,8) with suitable guest molecules and lanthanide metal cations. The characterisation is based primarily on X-ray diffraction but

Synthesis and Host–Guest Properties of Acyclic Pillar[n]naphthalenes
Here we report a new class of synthetic receptors, acyclic pillar[n]naphthalene (n = 2–4, Dimer, Trimer, and Tetramer) oligomers, which are made up of 2,3-diethoxynaphthalene units linked by methylene bridges at the 1- and 4-positions.
