Analysis of Thermogenesis Experiments with CalR
2022Modern indirect calorimetry systems allow for high-frequency time series measurements of the factors affected by thermogenesis: energy intake and energy expenditure. These indirect calorimetry systems generate a flood of raw data recording oxygen consumption, carbon dioxide production, physical activity, and food intake among other factors. Analysis of

Calreticulin (CALR) mutations were recently described in JAK2 and MPL unmutated primary myelofibrosis (PMF) and essential thrombocythemia. In the current study, we compared the clinical, cytogenetic and molecular features of patients with PMF with or ...

A rare CALR variant mutation and a review of CALR in essential thrombocythemia
Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis, 2018Essential thrombocythemia (ET) is an indolent myeloproliferative neoplasm characterized by megakaryocyte hyperplasia, thrombocytosis, thrombotic and hemorrhagic complications, and potential transformation into myelofibrosis and acute myeloid leukemia. The vast majority of cases are driven by a somatic mutation in JAK2, CALR, or MPL.

Two faces of ET: CALR and JAK2
Blood, 2014In this issue of Blood, Rumi et al and Rotunno et al demonstrate that essential thrombocythemia (ET) patients with calreticulin mutations exhibit lower leukocyte and hemoglobin values, higher platelet counts, and a lower thrombosis risk vs JAK2-mutated ET. Calreticulin-mutated ET appears to be a distinct entity with a more indolent course.

Up-regulation of CALR in patients with essential thrombocythemia independent from CALR mutations.
Journal of Clinical Oncology, 20157086 Background: Somatic mutations in the exon 9 of calreticulin (CALR) gene were recently discovered in patients with essential thrombocythemia (ET) and primary myelofibrosis (PMF) lacking JAK2 an...

Abstract Somatic mutations in exon 9 of calreticulin (CALR) gene were recently discovered in patients with essential thrombocythemia (ET) and primary myelofibrosis (PMF) lacking JAK2 and MPL mutations, and absent in patient with polycythemia vera (PV).

CALR -mutated myeloproliferative neoplasms
Leukemia & LymphomaCalreticulin (CALR) is a chaperone protein that plays a crucial role in protein folding quality control and calcium homeostasis. Mutations in CALR result in a mutated protein lacking key calcium-binding sites and the KDEL sequence, leading to a constitutive activation of the MPL-JAK2-STAT5 pathway, which is involved in the pathogenesis of essential ...
