Discovery that deadenylation, rather than transcription, acts as the rate‐limiting step for developmental timing in a plant pathogen. Evidence that P‐body integrity and mRNA decay are mechanistically coupled to rapid cellular differentiation under environmental stress. Identification of Pan2‐Pan3 as a pathogen‐specific “meta‐virulence factor” absent in

THE VALUE OF PRECONDITIONING PROGRAMS IN BEEF PRODUCTION SYSTEMS [PDF]
Net returns to feeding were calculated for preconditioning. The added value to cattle feeders, without accounting for death loss, from purchasing preconiditioned calves over calves of unknown origin is $46.83/head and $49.54/head for the CPH and GT ...

Thermic dehorning and ear tagging as atypical portals of entry of Clostridium tetani in ruminants [PDF]
This paper describes two infections with Clostridium tetani (C. tetani). One outbreak occurred after dehorning of calves, the second infection happened after ear tagging of a goat.

Ce‐Doped Lignin‐Based Nanozyme with Heat‐Activated Hydrolase Activity
A novel Ce‐doped lignin‐based hydrolase nanozyme (Ce‐AL) is synthesized using Ce ions coordinated with aminated industrial lignin. The Ce‐AL effectively hydrolyzes phosphate ester bonds and protein amide bonds, maintain high activity at 100°C, and successfully fights bacteria biofilms.

The effect of abrupt weaning of suckler calves on the plasma concentrations of cortisol, catecholamines, leukocyte, acute-phase proteins and in vitro interferon-gamma production [PDF]
End of project reportThe objective of this study was to examine the effect of abrupt weaning (inclusive of social group disruption and maternal separation) on the physiological mediators of stress and measures of immune function. Thirty-eight male and 38

Cross‐Platform Biosensing of Immune Receptors Using Peptide‐Functionalized Graphene
A peptide‐functionalized graphene biosensor enables sensitive and selective detection of living immune cells. Targeting Formyl‐Peptide Receptor 2 (FPR2), the assay is demonstrated on model cells and primary human neutrophils. The same assay is applied to two complementary platforms: graphene‐enhanced surface plasmon resonance for optical benchmarking ...

Our study identifies selenium deficiency as a hallmark of MASH pathogenesis. Dietary selenium supplementation enhances hepatic fatty acid oxidation (FAO) and attenuates MASH progression by activating the PPARα pathway via selenoprotein H (SELENOH). This selenium‐SELENOH‐PPARα nexus redefines the functional scope of selenoproteins, moving from redox ...

COMPARISON OF GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF BEEF CALVES FROM DIFFERENT GENETIC STRAINS REARED UNDER ORGANIC CONDITIONs (D. 3.2) [PDF]
The objective of the present study was to compare growth performance of 15 Danish Holstein bull (DHB) calves, 15 Limousine x Danish Holstein crossbred bull (CB) calves and 15 Limousine x Danish Holstein crossbred heifer (CH) calves reared under organic ...

ZBTB21 is a transcription factor that epigenetically suppresses pyroptosis and MHC‐I antigen presentation, enabling tumor immune evasion. Genetic ablation of ZBTB21 activates pyroptotic cell death and enhances antigen presentation, recruiting CD8+ T cells to overcome immune checkpoint blockade resistance.
