Background: Meropenem–vaborbactam (MEM-VAB) is a novel carbapenem-beta-lactamase-inhibitor combination that demonstrates activity against carbapenem-resistant (CR) Gram-negative bacteria, and more specifically KPC-producers, since vaborbactam is an ...

This study developed a pair of duplex RPA‐LFA assays for the simultaneous detection of critical resistance genes, blaCTX‐M/mcr‐1 and blaoxa‐48‐like/blaNDM, from hemoculture samples. Under optimized conditions, duplex RPA was performed at 37°C–38°C for 25 min, followed by LFA for 10–15 min.

AbstractBackgroundThe dissemination of MBLs compromises effective use of many β-lactams in the treatment of patients with life-threatening bacterial infections. Predicted global increases in the prevalence of MBL-producing carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) are being realized, yielding infections that are untreatable with existing therapies ...

Association of Carbapenem and Colistin Resistance in Pathogenic Gram Negative Bacteria
Diseases caused by multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria continue to challenge physicians and endanger their patients’ lives. Polymyxins, including colistin, are the last resort antibiotics to treat serious infections caused by carbapenem-resistant ...

Glyco‐Nanogels for Modulating Pseudomonas aeruginosa Biofilm
Nanogels presenting α‐galactose and β‐fucose can significantly alter Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm dynamics through their interaction with lectins. Application timing is crucial: pre‐treatment reduces biofilm, while treatment after biofilm initiation increases biomass.

Nanjing Consensus II on Washed Microbiota Transplantation: Statements From the CHINAGUT Conference
ABSTRACT The new method of fecal microbiota transplantation, based on automatic facilities and washing processes, was coined as washed microbiota transplantation (WMT). The first recommendations on WMT were released as Nanjing Consensus report by the fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT)‐standardization Study Group in 2019.
